Mobilization of stakeholders

Background

The links between water and urban planning stakeholders are not always obvious. Shared knowledge between these stakeholders, but also awareness-raising as to regional development enables water issues to be included in future regional orientations and developments, from the planning stage.

1st quarter 2022 / 4th quarter 2025

Objective

The objectives of this action are to:

  • Encourage the inclusion of water issues in planning documents, in relation to the regional scheme for land-use planning and sustainable development-SRADDET
  • Coordinate and lead meetings between RBMP coordinators and RCS coordinators to strengthen ties between stakeholders

Description of the action

This action is broken down into several sections :

1- Creation of a network of RBMP-RCS coordinators

County or inter-county level meetings will be organised. They will serve to more specifically target water issues in the areas (urban, rural, and coastal areas) and to define theme-based working groups.

2- Training for urban planning coordinators 

Training will be offered to coordinators in charge of town planning to facilitate land planning and urban planning policies.
