Description of the action
This action is broken down into several sections:
1 – Increase knowledge
about the physico-chemical and
bacteriological quality of waters flowing from the river basin
into the baie de Bourgneuf
The parameters of water flows arriving in the sea, passing through canals/narrow water channels (entries to the sea), and through the rainwater system will be monitored for 3 years. It will cover 54 sites, 12 sea outfalls , and 42 rain outlets.
2 – Target contributor outfalls and characterise
sources of pollution A summary of the test results presenting the changes in contamination and the sources of pollution identified will be written up yearly.
3 – Communicate with upstream stakeholders
and co-develop an action plan per sector
Stakeholders located upstream of the Baie de Bourgneuf will be informed and made aware of the situation. “contamination” sheets compiled from the results produced will indeed be distributed. This will then serve as basis to discussions and for a joint actions programme to be compiled.
Main results expected
Accurate targeting of sources of contamination and of their type
Upstream stakeholders’ awareness raising
Mayors’ of coastal towns’ awareness raising
Definition of an actions programme
