Initiation of an erosion study carried out by the Department Council of Mayenne

lac de haute mayenne

An erosion study on the Aisne Anglaine basin was launched by the Mayenne Department Council as part of the LIFE action of support for stakeholders in the fight against erosion.

The Haute Mayenne lake is identified in the River Basin Management Plan (RBMP) for the Loire-Brittany basin as a sector at risk of erosion and phosphorus transfer.

As part of the LIFE REVERS’EAU project, the Mayenne Department Council is working on identifying sectors at high risk of erosion and targeting actions per river basin in order to improve water quality parameters, to limit the eutrophication of the lake and to guarantee a quality compatible with the use of drinking water.

A diagnostic study has started on the Aisne and the Anglaine river basin (tributaries of Mayenne river) in close collaboration with the SYBAMA basin board, the Orne departmental water board and the Mont des Avaloirs district Council. The first steering committee for this study was held on Thursday March 3, 2022 in Javron les Chapelles.
