This action aims to support the implementation of these collective management. The following levers are developed in 5 Rivers basins :

    • Promotion of crop technical management adapted (crop rotation, soil life, dodging strategy and varietal choices)
    • Implementation of collective management of summer withdrawals in order to limit the pressure on the environment,
    • Promotion of irrigation efficiency with the installation of a large number of capacitive probes and transmission of a specific bulletin to the farmers of the territory,

On Monday, June 13, 2022, the Chamber of Agriculture organized a first “Quantitative Management” working group in Tiercé in Maine et Loire. It brought together about fifteen people, including the representatives of the basin board concerned and representatives of the Region, the Loire Bretagne Water Agency and the State. The objective of this committee was to share feedback on the agricultural actions carried out.

During a first part in the room, the following elements were discussed:

  • Introduction by Mrs. Catherine SCHAEPELYNCK, elected member of the Pays de la Loire Regional Chamber of Agriculture in charge of the Water file
  • Presentation of the LIFE REVERS’EAU action
  • Different basins progress report
  • Interest of the irrigators databases and methodology of information crossing
  • Presentation of the Inf’eau bulletins

A field trip was then organized on a corn plot cultivated in Organic Agriculture for the demonstration of a capacitive probe installation (Cf. photographs).

The participants appreciated being able to exchange information on these topics between pairs.  The working group will meet from time to time during the action, which will last until the end of 2023. The capitalisation of the experiences conducted in the 5 targeted territories will allow engaging new basins in tension in the approach.
